Football Reigns Here!

While it is still super hot, and we would like to be distracted by beach days, and amusement parks-- it is almost August-- and what that means around here is.......FOOTBALL SEASON! Everything changes during football season. An already insane amount of laundry quadruples. I scramble looking for creative ways to feed my family with a crock pot. I turn into a fundraising focused, purple & black ( or red, white & blue - depending on the game) wearing sport head. All fashion sense is lost to yoga pants and team shirts. Family talk turns to plays, and strategies, and lifting schedules. Cleats in every size litter the house! It is madness! 4 players, 2 coaches, and one Team Manager (and Chapter Fundraiser) live here now-- the Rhodes' will return by Thanksgiving. #motherofboys #madhouse #youthsports

Networking can be expensive!

I went to a cool women's networking meeting the other night. It was with an organization called Heartlink . It was at some one's house. An awesome dinner was served. Tables set, lovely hospitality, and about 20 very interesting women were there. We each got 3 minutes to introduce ourselves and tell a bit about our business's. Most of the women knew each other already. Many of the women present had business's that sell through direct marketing. Most of the big ones were represented, and a few new ones I had never heard of but found interesting. There were also women with other business's like insurance, legal services, printing, etc... It is great to meet like minded people, and I can definitely see the benefits of attending regularly. The bad part however, is it leaves you wanting to go shopping! All of a sudden, I MUST have the new mango cutter from Pampered Chef, and I am yearning to freshen up my candles, and I NEED a hole new wardrobe from CABi . ...

I would LOVE a cleaning fairy!

Every woman has things in her life she is willing to pay for, and things she feels like she can and should do herself. My list is generally a little different than most women I think. My sister would tell you it is because I think I can do things better than other people, hee , hee ... she thinks I am a bit on the controlling side. I cut my own hair, do my own hair color, do my own facials, make jewelry, that sort of thing. I will admit, it is a rare occasion that I pay hundreds of dollars for a color and cut, and walk out feeling amazing. I am almost always disappointed in the result. I get a manicure & pedicure, and always regret the color choice- or see smudges. It just makes me mad to pay a lot of money for mediocre results. (I can get mediocre results myself!) One thing I definitely am willing to pay for, that I easily admit I am the worst at, is CLEANING MY HOUSE!! I really hate it. I love the calm and peace that comes with the clean, well organized home. The Sky is Blue

I want to thank all of you who lift my family up in prayer. I thank all of you who give us encouragement. I try really hard to see the cup 1/2 full, and most days I do. I was feeling a little down last night, but today is a new day. Blue skies remind me of how much I am loved. Have an awesome day friends. And.....on a side note.... Go Viewpoint Patriots!!! We are in the playoffs! Wooo Hoooooo!
