One of the many joys of after 40 life in my experience has been lash thinning. My once luxurious, black, batting, eyelashes, are now lighter in color, and very sparse. Darn aging crap. I comfort myself with the idea that all of the wisdom I have obtained all of these years is beginning to crowd out my beauty juju--- and oh, I do want to be wise. So like any strong woman, I adapt.
There are products that can help. I have tried Latisse with good results. It does have a few downsides-- price, requires discipline, you must follow the directions to get results-- so for the rebels among us it is a waste of money.
I have also heard good things about some of the other serums out there, though I have never tried them personally. I have many a recipe for DIY serums and mascara formulas involving coconut oil and charcoal, but let's be honest-- ain't nobody got time for that.
But, low and behold, I have found a product that gives me long luscious looking lashes, in my budget, with no discipline required. If you haven't tried it yet, you should. It is no hype, it works. Like anything worth having, it takes a little practice. You may find it irritating at first. But friend, it is worth it. It is Younique's 3D fiber lashes.
I don't sell it, I don't even have allegiance to a particular Younique rep, but you should be able to find someone who sells it easily enough. Be careful though, you want to make sure you are working with someone who is actively working their business, not someone who is trying to get rid of old inventory. This is important, because this product is amazing, but has a shelf life. If it is old it is very irritating, it'll burn your eyes out, and that is NOT pretty. I am not implying that the stuff is toxic. If you want toxic, you can find it in just about every mascara on the market, nasty stuff. 3D fiber lashes is made with green tea fibers, and the placement gel dries out and loses it's effectiveness after 3-4 months, leaving you with fibers in your eyes. This is not a bad thing. You should be throwing away your mascara every 3-4 months anyway, they are doing you a favor.
You will still need a base of mascara before applying the 3D fiber lashes. I recommend using a less toxic version. There are a few good ones out there. I am partial to Ava Anderson. It doesn't deliver big amazing lashes, but it does provide a nice, safe base, for your 3D lashes.
