Sports, sports and more sports.....life with boys

I am getting excited about the prospect of Fall sports if you can believe that. My big guy is heading into his second year of wrestling, he will be wrestling Varsity this year. With some hard work, and dedication he could be a city champion. Fortunately he has good friends who will push him to his limits. Jack is a freshman at Viewpoint this year, and he lives and breathes football. I am excited to watch him play, that kid is the nicest kid you'll ever meet in life, but he is MEAN on the field. Michael is undecided, so he'll likely play hockey this Fall, then wrestle in the winter. Our littlest guy, will play his first season of Roller Rookies (hockey), he is ready, believe me. This kid has been on hockey skates since he was like 18 months old, no kidding. So it should be a fun season. Who knew I'd end up the ultimate cheerleader??? All seasons, all sports, no time off for this gal. I am really proud of the boys. Hopefully their academic achievements this year will rival their athletic achievements.......time will tell on that one.

Networking can be expensive!

I went to a cool women's networking meeting the other night. It was with an organization called Heartlink . It was at some one's house. An awesome dinner was served. Tables set, lovely hospitality, and about 20 very interesting women were there. We each got 3 minutes to introduce ourselves and tell a bit about our business's. Most of the women knew each other already. Many of the women present had business's that sell through direct marketing. Most of the big ones were represented, and a few new ones I had never heard of but found interesting. There were also women with other business's like insurance, legal services, printing, etc... It is great to meet like minded people, and I can definitely see the benefits of attending regularly. The bad part however, is it leaves you wanting to go shopping! All of a sudden, I MUST have the new mango cutter from Pampered Chef, and I am yearning to freshen up my candles, and I NEED a hole new wardrobe from CABi . ...

The Sky is Blue

I want to thank all of you who lift my family up in prayer.  I thank all of you who give us encouragement.  I try really hard to see the cup 1/2 full, and most days I do.  I was feeling a little down last night, but today is a new day.  Blue skies remind me of how much I am loved.  Have an awesome day friends. And.....on a side note.... Go Viewpoint Patriots!!! We are in the playoffs! Wooo Hoooooo!

To Push or NOT to Push

I know I have written on this topic before, but wow, it is hitting in my household like a pie in the face, Life is different now than it was way back in the 80's.  I never questioned what Middle school or High School I would attend, I just walked to the end of my road, got on a bus (that was free by the way), and went to school. My parents didn't deliberate and lose sleep over which school was best.  It was your assigned school, or private school, and the majority of families chose public--at least in rural Southern Pennsylvania.  I knew most of the same kids all through school.  I wasn't an exceptional student.  I was smart, but lazy.  I did well in the classes I enjoyed, not so well in the ones that didn't -- ie: Chemistry, Algebra, etc.... I got in a little bit of trouble, but I had a pretty smile, and all of my teachers knew my Mom, so I got an extra measure of grace-- it didn't hurt that my best friend's Mother was the Principals secretary, lol. ...
