Busy Brain

Do you ever experience the sensation of having a super busy brain? I do. My mom and I were chatting the other day and I found myself at a strange loss for words. Normally I can prattle on about what is going on around here. I found myself feeling like we are crazy busy, but I couldn't put my finger on excactly what was keeping us so busy.  Just life I guess.  The constant humm of schedules for 7 people tends to keep things running at a pretty frenetic pace most of the time.

School for all
Rugby for Nick
Appointments left and right for Victor
Youth group for Michael
After-school and weekend workouts for William and Jack
Teen social lives
College prep
Post grad school applications/interviews
and that is just the kids!!

Jeff and I try to fit lives in there too! We are people with interests.  We are involved in things.  We have jobs.  Wow, I need a nap just writing about it.  No wonder I am tired all of the time. Wouldn't trade it. I am just noting that if I run into you and smile, but clearly can't remember your name (even if I have known you for years) please give me an extra measure of grace..... I am lucky I remember my children's names. :)

Networking can be expensive!

I went to a cool women's networking meeting the other night. It was with an organization called Heartlink . It was at some one's house. An awesome dinner was served. Tables set, lovely hospitality, and about 20 very interesting women were there. We each got 3 minutes to introduce ourselves and tell a bit about our business's. Most of the women knew each other already. Many of the women present had business's that sell through direct marketing. Most of the big ones were represented, and a few new ones I had never heard of but found interesting. There were also women with other business's like insurance, legal services, printing, etc... It is great to meet like minded people, and I can definitely see the benefits of attending regularly. The bad part however, is it leaves you wanting to go shopping! All of a sudden, I MUST have the new mango cutter from Pampered Chef, and I am yearning to freshen up my candles, and I NEED a hole new wardrobe from CABi . ...

The Sky is Blue

I want to thank all of you who lift my family up in prayer.  I thank all of you who give us encouragement.  I try really hard to see the cup 1/2 full, and most days I do.  I was feeling a little down last night, but today is a new day.  Blue skies remind me of how much I am loved.  Have an awesome day friends. And.....on a side note.... Go Viewpoint Patriots!!! We are in the playoffs! Wooo Hoooooo!

To Push or NOT to Push

I know I have written on this topic before, but wow, it is hitting in my household like a pie in the face, Life is different now than it was way back in the 80's.  I never questioned what Middle school or High School I would attend, I just walked to the end of my road, got on a bus (that was free by the way), and went to school. My parents didn't deliberate and lose sleep over which school was best.  It was your assigned school, or private school, and the majority of families chose public--at least in rural Southern Pennsylvania.  I knew most of the same kids all through school.  I wasn't an exceptional student.  I was smart, but lazy.  I did well in the classes I enjoyed, not so well in the ones that didn't -- ie: Chemistry, Algebra, etc.... I got in a little bit of trouble, but I had a pretty smile, and all of my teachers knew my Mom, so I got an extra measure of grace-- it didn't hurt that my best friend's Mother was the Principals secretary, lol. ...
