A Beacon of Light

Weekends are wonderful. Old news right? Well, for those of us who have returned to the work force, after years of stay-at-home parenting- this is a renewed revelation. When you stay home, you are never really "off". Your days are filled with driving, volunteering, teaching, shopping, cleaning, sports/dance/ art, music lessons, appointments...etc. Weekends don't provide much of a breather. Summer is a nice break to routine, no school (for some), lazy mornings (sometimes), and beach days (at least for coastal mammas).
When you return to the workforce this changes a bit. Strangely, it changes in a good way, in my personal experience. Weekends are this beacon of light at the end of the week- to anticipate. I sleep late if I want. We eat out. We enjoy being home. It is as if God granted me a new lens through which to view my home life, to ease the transition of working again. Ahhhhh, it's Friday, pizza night, family movie. Ahhhh, it's Saturday, time for sports, cooking out, and chores. Ahhhh, it's Sunday, time for a spiritual fill-up, time with friends and family, Sunday dinner-- and more sports.💜💜
The only rough part is MONDAY. You can't see the light without the dark though, right? ‪#‎perspective‬ ‪#‎workingmom‬ ‪#‎family‬

Networking can be expensive!

I went to a cool women's networking meeting the other night. It was with an organization called Heartlink . It was at some one's house. An awesome dinner was served. Tables set, lovely hospitality, and about 20 very interesting women were there. We each got 3 minutes to introduce ourselves and tell a bit about our business's. Most of the women knew each other already. Many of the women present had business's that sell through direct marketing. Most of the big ones were represented, and a few new ones I had never heard of but found interesting. There were also women with other business's like insurance, legal services, printing, etc... It is great to meet like minded people, and I can definitely see the benefits of attending regularly. The bad part however, is it leaves you wanting to go shopping! All of a sudden, I MUST have the new mango cutter from Pampered Chef, and I am yearning to freshen up my candles, and I NEED a hole new wardrobe from CABi . ...

The Sky is Blue

I want to thank all of you who lift my family up in prayer.  I thank all of you who give us encouragement.  I try really hard to see the cup 1/2 full, and most days I do.  I was feeling a little down last night, but today is a new day.  Blue skies remind me of how much I am loved.  Have an awesome day friends. And.....on a side note.... Go Viewpoint Patriots!!! We are in the playoffs! Wooo Hoooooo!

I believe

I believe....... That marriage is a lifetime gig That it is up to us to take care of those in need, through families, churches, relationships, etc... That family is serious business, parenthood is a gift, a treasure, something to take dead dog serious. That I have a right, and a responsibility to protect my family and those who can't protect themselves, from would be criminals, and anyone else who is attempting to infringe on our rights as stated in our constitution. I believe that without faith in God, and a conscious decision to submit to him, people are lost in a pool of ever changing self centered nonsense, and are subject to what ever the politically correct, hip, educated mantra of the year is. Stuff is awesome, shiny cars, flashy jewels, exotic vacations, are all delightful--- for a little while--then when the shiny wears off, and the financial impact starts hurting--- the result is damage to the most important thing--- family, and submission to God. I bel...
